Looking at the future of player-owned companies

Published: 12/5/2024

Currently all company flights you find in Nebula FS are system-owned. NPC companies if you like, that create jobs at certain airports for pilots to start their journey in Nebula without the need of owning a plane, or to do certain types of flights that are normally not available for a solo pilot (e.g. BAe 146 cargo flights). So what’s next?

Player-owned companies

A key part of our roadmap is the creation of player-owned companies. For a small in-game fee, you will be able to setup your own company and start building your aviation empire.

As with the system-owned companies you see right now, you will be able to rent FBO space at different aiports, and start generating assignments with different templates for you and your friends to take.

The revenue will be split between the company and the pilot, creating a revenue generating stream for the owners of a company.

Completing the assignments

You will be able to decide whether those assignments are open to anybody in Nebula or are listed only for other pilots that have joined your company. And if nobody completes the flights, a handy AI pilot will complete the flights, but for a hefty fee! That means that companies will not be a money pit, but don’t expect to get rich without doing any work. Consider the AI pilots as a way to break even, but nothing else.

Joining other companies

There’s no limit of how many companies you, as a pilot, can join. But you will be limited to holding only one management role at a single company.
